Jeffrey Hoad, frontman of ‘80s black leather afficianados Kings Of The Sun, has resurrected the band that KOTS morphed into, The Rich And Famous, after a few years out of the business for family duties.

With first single Take Us To Your Leader due to drop digitally on 30 March, all I can say is: it’s great to have him back and rockin’ hard. The gonzo reptilian alien invasion madness of this riff-fuelled track is a super-trashy homage to science fiction double feature B-movie drive-in extravaganza’s. Pre-order HERE.

Dirty Music is the second track to set yourself an alarm for, due for release on 6 April. Scuzzier and pub-rock-raw, it lives up to its title, with Hoad singing and delivering Nugent-huge riffs, ex-KOTS alumni Dean Turner on thumping bass, and drummer Dean Reeson pounding hard. Pre-order HERE.

Finally (for now) on 13 April – 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 – BLAST OFF! An absolute killer of a track which encapsulates all the swagger of KOTS with a superhero riff that is equal parts punkish Thin Lizzy and hair metal glory. Pre-order HERE.

Hoad has always been able to write great lyrics and melodies, and these three tracks – precursor to a 5-track EP, or just 5 digital singles, call ‘em what you will – are all killer, no filler, as vital as anything he’s ever done. Welcome back, Sir – keep ‘em coming!
