The Connection pitch a kinghitter with their fourth album, Just For Fun, which does exactly what it says on the tin.

Entering the studio late last year, The Connection set about having a blast, blasting out some of their favourite tunes, and caught the action on tape as they went.

The result is a good time party waiting to happen!

Bob Seger’s Get Out Of Denver is given the Chuck Berry treatment with a fiery groove; The Dictators’ Stay With Me is overloaded with Jason & the Scorchers charm and a Cheap Trick edge; Gary Lewis & the Playboys’ I Can Read Between The Lines has its roots in early Beatles pop; there’s more country edge on the Glaser/Howard standard Streets Of Baltimore; The Stone’s No Expectations gets the pop punk treatment; and Cheap Trick’s Southern Girls sounds like an unreleased garage demo.

I dunno about ‘just for fun’ – this entire album has such a cool vibe and catchy groove, it could soundtrack our next party!
